This room reflects a "home from home" environment
providing a gentle transition to nursery life.
At this early stage babies are gaining competence in
observing and responding to their immediate environment and
the baby room focuses on tactile activities that stimulate and
encourage development. |
 |
At this age children begin exploring their environment
with increasing mobility, dexterity and language.
The pumpkin and strawberry rooms are interlinked allowing
children to gently progress to the toddler stage of development.
The early toddler rooms enable children to flourish using
purpose built furniture and play resources that encourage
children to stretch themselves physically and imaginatively. |
 |
 |
With the child's growing independence and development
our focus moves to developing a range of skills.
Activities include shared meal times, role play and games.
During this time the children are introduced to a more
structured day in preparation for the pre-school room. |
 |
Activities are structured to reflect Early Years
development guidelines.
Knowledge is encouraged through purposeful play and children
are encouraged to experience a wide range of learning
opportunities including early reading, writing, maths skills and
ICT. We also have a French teacher who visits the nursery
weekly to encourage language skills. |
